As I had read in Milan Kundera’s Unbearable Lightness of Being, the first rehearsal for life is life itself. I intend to explore, learn, make mistakes and learn from my mistakes during this rehearsal. Performance art/Writing/Painting/Sculpting, are all art forms and media for expressing my thoughts. In my works these media are combined to bring out the concept. I wish to communicate to viewers. My works offer a glimpse into the political and social structures that surround me in the society I live in. Observing and living within the contradictions of society often had the effect of driving me mad, even schizophrenic. This frustration pushed me to make art-works that ask the question ‘why’?. ‘Why am I doing this piece of work?’. In the beginning, I did not find any answer or resolution, which confused, frustrated and sometimes disillusioned me about art itself. But through process, the ‘Why’ eventually made me come out with art works that were strong and to a certain extent provoked the viewer to think (I would say) and perhaps even angered them.
